DEAR PASTOR, I’VE BEEN READING SOME OF YOUR I GUESS ARTICLES OF QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.  I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO JUST WALK HUMBLY BEFORE GOD, BE HONEST AND KEEP AND OPEN MIND BEFORE THE SPIRIT OF GOD.  YOU ARE WALKING IN ALL THE LIGHT YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW.  PLEASE DO NOT EVEN TAKE TIME TO RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS ASK BY THE UPCI, OR ONENESS PEOPLE.   IT IS NOT GOOD FOR EITHER OF YOU.  YOU WILL ONLY END UP AT AN IMPASSE THIS IS NOT THE WILL OF GOD FOR HIS CHILDREN TO BE ATTACKING EACH OTHER IN WAYS THAT ARE NOT PRODUCTIVE.  THIS IS A TRICK OF THE DEVIL AND OUR FLESH TO GET US MORE AT ODDS WITH EACH OTHER.  YOU GROW FROM WHERE YOU ARE IN GOD. APPARENTLY YOU ARE TEACHING LOVE AND THE WORD.  THAT IS THE WORK OF THE HOLY GHOST TO BRING REVELATION AND DRAW MEN UNTO HIM. BUT YOU MUST NEVER BE AFRAID TO EMBRACE NEW TRUTHS THAT THE HOLY GHOST IS WILLING TO SHOW YOU.. I’M THIRD GENERATION APOSTOLIC PASTOR.  PERSONALLY BROTHER I’M AGAINST THIS TYPE OF QUESTIONING AND ANSWERING.  THOSE BABIES THAT ARE READING THIS ARE EVEN MORE CONFUSED BECAUSE Y’ALL ARE SHOWING THEM TWO OPTIONS.  THIS CANNOT BE.  PLEASE JUST DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM.  MAKE SOME DECLARATION ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT YOU ARE NOT TAKING QUESTION REGARDING THIS MATTER.  YOU KNOW BROTHER THE WORD MUST BE REVEALED AND 1COR. 2:10 SAYS THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD CAN ONLY BE REVEALED BY  THE HOLY GHOST. THOSE WHO ARE NOT SPIRIT FILLED CANNOT RECEIVE THIS DEEPER DIMENSION OF WHO JESUS IS.  IT MUST BE TAUGHT IN THE RIGHT SETTING AND WITH THE RIGHT SPIRIT AND THEN THE HOLY GHOST CAN ILLUMINATE THE MIND.  I THANK YOU FOR WHAT I SEE HERE.  THE REST I WILL LEAVE TO YOU AND GOD, BUT I PLEAD WITH YOU TO NOT ENTERTAIN THEIR QUESTIONINGS ESPECIALLY IN A PUBLIC VENUE.  I TRULY FEEL IT DOES MORE HARM THAN GOOD.  THE BIBLE IS RIGHT.  MAN IS WRONG.  BUT AS MINISTERS WE MUST TEACH THAT WORD SO MAN WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW THE REAL TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD.  STAY ENCOURAGED IN JESUS LOVE IN JESUS NAME PASTOR JOHN R.

============

Dear Brother John R.,

I am perplexed as to why you see questions and answers as a threat to the spiritual well-being of the saints.  God invited His people repeatedly to seek his face, to ask for wisdom, and to desire to know the things pertaining to the kingdom.  As long as the answers are true, and from the spirit, there can be no danger to the body of Christ in them.  There are teachers in the body; that is the third of the offices, or functions, mentioned by Paul in 1Corinthians 12:29.  Surely, if there are teachers, there will be students with questions.  The disciples asked Jesus many questions, and he never expressed an opinion of them as you seem to be expressing to me.

It may be that I have misunderstood your meaning.  If so, please help me understand better what you are saying.

Your servant in Christ Jesus the Lord,
Pastor John

Healing testimonies

Dear John,

I just want to say that I have loved hearing about all the accounts of Jesus giving healing to people during the teachings and the songs over the weekend. It touched my heart when Jesus sent healing through the scriptures you had for us and the music, and I feel very thankful to be here among God’s faithful ones.

My wrist

Hey!

I have a testimony from Saturday night I would like to share. For the past couple of weeks, I have been having some trouble in my left wrist. A sharp pain would shoot through it when I would bend it back. I didn’t remember twisting it, but it felt like I had a sprain. It was getting worse, bad enough that I went to the store a few days ago and got a wrist brace (the kind that have the metal strip to keep you from bending). Plus, it was starting to hurt more just to pick something up or hold it with that hand. I thought that, with the brace, maybe if I kept it straight for the next few days, before we came to NC, it would be okay.

Before the meeting last night, I had the thought to take the brace off and just let my wrist rest during the meeting, and I would put the brace back on before bedtime. So, I did. And then, I didn’t think anymore about it. We started reading Zechariah. It was so good. And so was the song, “Are you washed in the blood?” It sure felt like healing there last night. Then, you mentioned your shoulder and the pain you were feeling and how you went out to the building to pray and talk with Jesus, and then you said you prayed for my mom’s shoulder too. The Spirit hit you and you went and laid hands on her. As I was praying with you all, I just placed my hand over my wrist and rubbed it.

Toward the end of the meeting, I noticed I was moving my wrist back and forth and picking up my bible and moving things around with no pain. I thought, “Jesus, would you do that for me too?” Yes, thank you Jesus, he did! So, I am happy to report today, that I went to bed last night with no wrist brace on, and I am moving it around just fine. Jesus is good. The rest of the night, I just kept thanking Jesus, and today too. It really feels good when Jesus touches you.

Thanks John for last night. The reading we have been doing is excellent! And today, was very good too. Looking forward to seeing you all in just a few days.

Psalm 118:22

Hi, Pastor John:

Is the word “builders” in the verse below referring to the Priests of Israel?

Psalm 118:22:

“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.”

Thanks,
Billy

Hi Billy.

The builders were the elders and leaders of Israel, which would include the priests, of course.

Hi John,

It was always a mystery to me how the disciples taught about the Son of God from the Old Testament. I love it when God gives you those golden nuggetts like in Zechariah last night so you can teach us what they knew. The Father and Son are loving us opening our eyes just like they did the disciple’s to understand the hidden mysteries in the Old Testament. Wow, that is something to think about!

Randell

PS: No wonder the Son of God was hidden from all of creation. Just in chapters 3 & 4 he was hidden as Joshua, the Branch, the stone with seven eyes, Zerubbabel and the Lord.

Stuart – Meeting 11/14/12

John, last night’s message was wonderful. We wanted to hear every word and take it in deep. God is still pleading with us to trust him and him alone. It rang in my ears all night long and increased the love of God I feel in my heart for his truth. How much we depend on every word from him to us to live! I am so thankful that God has raised you up for his people, John. Thank you for tending to the sheep he has given you. We want to eat up the grass you have taken us to, and get fat on his word 🙂

Sandy’s rescue – edited

http://pastorjohnshouse.com/testimonies/sandysrescue.html

I finished proofing “Sandy’s Rescue” and sent my edits to Bro. Gary. I didn’t find a lot of errors, just a lot of love. 🙂

I never can read this without weeping through it all. It truly is a story of God’s love for us. As I read again each one’s part and how God used them, I realized how much this truly is OUR story. And what a wonderful Thanksgiving miracle God had for us in 2006. He can do it again. If we don’t stop at the hurt and disappointments of this life, and go on with Jesus to the end, He is where the Beauty lies. HE is the One who makes this life beautiful.

I love our story and it will never grow old because Jesus lives! And he blesses me every time I read it! I pray each heart that reads “our story” will realize how much love of God there is in repentance – – how merciful God’s love is to offer the door of repentance for us to walk through so we can be restored in fellowship with Him and His body. It is as Jesus told me – heart-seeking: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Thank you, Bro. John, for all you have done to help me understand the truth. You are a true example of what God said: “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” You have fed us little sheep well, and I for one, am fat, happy, and thankful tonight. 🙂

Love,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,

It is a GREAT story, a modern-day addition to the book of Acts. It still amazes me. I am so thankful, and we all are so blessed that Jesus rescued you!

The New Birth

Pastor John,

I find what you say about the New Birth very interesting. I want truth as it is the only thing that makes a difference in lives and takes us to the will and purpose of God. I teach my students that we must each always remain a student, a disciple ready and eager to cast off error and traditionalism and learn the ways of God.

I have long been very uncomfortable about the modern church approach to salvation. Filling our a card or repeating a prayer is simply deception and produces only bragging rights for preachers. This is what I have concluded to date: John 3:16 is a promise that I consider entry level Christianity. This will get you to Heaven. I grew up in a Southern Baptist church where we were all “old sinners saved by grace” and that described our walk and behavior as well. Now as a good Baptist boy I had absolute confidence in my eternal address. Jesus said so.

However as life progressed and I studied and sought the Lord more and more I began to see that that was only the door. Most Christians it seems are parked in the Door and have never moved from there. In my understanding this is where lost people receive Jesus as Savior. Entry level. To make Him Lord (Ro 10:9-10) as well as Savior takes the believer to a new level. Overcomer, adoption as sons etc. are obviously levels to be sought.

Your thoughts?

==============

Dear Brother,

I am thankful for your correspondence, and my prayer is that Jesus will use it for our mutual benefit.

For the time being, I will confine my comments to John 3:16, since that is the verse you mentioned. As you know, Paul explained to us that “the Spirit is life” (Rom. 8:10), and Jesus said that the reason God sent him was so that we mortals might “have life, and have it more abundantly”. But it was not for us to have more of our human kind of life that Jesus came; it was to make it possible for us to receive God’s kind of life, that is, His Spirit. The human spirit is corrupt and condemned to death, but God’s Spirit, His life, is holy and eternal. That is the kind of life Jesus was talking about in John 3:16. In other words, the Son of God paid the price for us to receive the Father’s kind of life, His Spirit, so that Jesus might have “many brethren.” John referred to this is John 7:37-39:37.

On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!
38. He who believes in me, as the Scripture said, from deep within him will flow rivers of living water.”
39. He spoke this concerning the Spirit, which those who believed on him were going to receive, for the Spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

To receive the holy Spirit is to receive eternal life; without the Spirit of God men are spiritually dead. Both Jesus and Paul said so.
That is why Paul wrote, “If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Rom. 8:9).
The only issue, then, is whether or not a person receives the Spirit before he receives the baptism of the Spirit (with the evidence of speaking in tongues, or “stammering lips”).
Perhaps that will be our next conversation.

Your servant,
Pastor John
