“Conviction”

Hi, Pastor John:

I listened to the cd today, ”Conviction”. The music was so soothing to me, as I drove to Ohio, this morning. It’s God’s concviction that he pours out to us and that enables us to cry out to Him for help and relief. Livestream was not very clear that night, so to hear the clear version of the cd was wonderful. I listened to the cd and envisioned that Wed. night on livestream. God is so very good to us; the country we live in, the musicians he has given us, the testimonies that surrounds us, and the teaching. Whew! Sometimes I have to shake my head and say, “God, am I really worthy to hear these words? If not, please convict me.”

I love it when I feel so much conviction that God takes me places in Him. Every time that I feel the Spirit is like Jesus telling me, “I made it–I am here–I love you!” Most times I have to just cry. I was a wreck when Jesus found me–I pray that I am found worthy to have my picture put on the wall in the tract room, one day, with all those old saints.

Name: Paul D

I read your booklet about baptism of Holy spirit from my elder . you wrote it well but you missing some important passage like Act 11:14-18 luke 11:9-13 etc.. it would be better book. do you do any feasts in your church once a year in the NT? Are you only preacher in the church? In our church we worship base on the orginal teaching of Christ same way the Apostle do in early church. 1 Corth 3:10-11

=================

Thanks for writing, Paul.

Here are the verses (from the King James Version) from Acts 11:14-18, which you said would make my book better:

Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved. And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.”

Here are the verses (from the King James Version) from Luke 11:9-13, which you also said would make my book better:

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
(Luke 11:9-13)

Those are great Scriptures, but what is there in particular about them that would improve my book, “Speaking in Tongues at Spirit Baptism”?

As to your question about feasting once a year, I have never thought about doing that. We feast with Christ in spirit every time we get together, and that seems to satisfy everyone around here. Do the saints where you are feast with Christ only once a year? That is certainly not the way the apostles served God.

As to your last question, yes, I am the only pastor of this particular body of believers, although we have a number of experienced and godly men and women who are able to give sound advice when needed, and I trust their judgment.

God bless you and the saints there with you.

Wednesday night

John

Last night was so very good. How you explained Chapter 7 with the father not being known without his son & sons is great. Fellowship with the world without the father … Have people seen God in you lately? … We are the light that draws people to God . . . mmmmm good.

The “Blessed Assurance” This is My Story song is a knockout. Jesus has blessed us with heavenly music. The verse: “Perfect submission, is perfect delight’ really stood out and went in deep. There is a peace, delight, assurance in submitting perfectly to Jesus and following the spirit.

We wanted to find the words and looked it up on line after the meeting. We listened to at least a dozen different versions of that song, but none could even come close to what we experienced in the meeting. When the spirit is in the music it really does make it heavenly and not of this world.
